Migration from Contabo to WebHostingPeople cPanel

If you already have a Standard Hosting package with us, let’s dive into the steps to migrate your website from Contabo to WebHostingPeople.

The first step is to log in to your Contabo control panel. You can access the Contabo cPanel interface using one of the URLs below. Ensure that your domain is correctly pointing to your web hosting account at Contabo, and replace example.com with your actual domain name.

http://example.com/cpanel or http://cpanel.example.com

Alternatively, you can use your client portal to access the cPanel interface. Once logged in, you will have access to the cPanel interface.

 Steps for cPanel to cPanel Migration

Create a complete cPanel backup from Contabo

1) Begin by logging in to your cPanel account.

2) Scroll down to the File Management section and click on “Backup Wizard”.

3) Select “Backup”.

4) Choose “Full Backup”. This feature allows you to create an archive containing all the files and configurations on your website.

5) You can select the home directory and provide an email address for receiving a notification email upon completion of the backup generation. Then, click on the “Generate Backup” button, and a message saying “Full Backup is in progress…” will appear.

Download and Upload the Backup to WebHostingPeople

After receiving the backup completion email, log in to your cPanel once again and access the “File Manager” feature. Locate the backup file in your Home Directory and either move it to the public_html folder or download it to your local machine using an FTP client like FileZilla.

Once the backup is downloaded, upload it to your WebHostingPeople cPanel account either through cPanel’s “File Manager” feature or via an FTP client like FileZilla. Once the upload is complete, open a support ticket requesting the restoration of the backup. Our support team will handle the restoration process for you. To open a ticket, go to your Client Portal at https://my.WebHostingPeople.net > Support > Open New Ticket. If you only need to restore a specific domain, please clearly state this in your ticket. Our support team will provide further instructions on the migration process via the ticket system.
