How Can We Help?

InMotion Hosting to WebHostingPeople Migration

You are here:

cPanel is the most used control panel in the World through which we can manage our websites and settings easily via a User-Friendly interface. WebHostingPeople provides all the features on cPanel for our customers including unlimited domain hosting and unlimited Email accounts and databases, some hosting providers don’t provide all the features. Our Standard Webhosting package comes with cPanel control panel to manage your websites, the migration process between cPanel to cPanel is very easy. Inmotion hosting also provides cPanel control panel, so we can easily migrate your websites over to your account with us easily. In this tutorial we assume you already have a Standard Hosting package with us, so let’s begin with the steps to migrate your website from Inmotion to WebHostingPeople.

cPanel Migration from Inmotion hosting to WebHostingPeople

The first step is to login to your Inmotion cPanel control panel. You can access Inmotion cPanel via one of the below URLs. Make sure that the domain is correctly pointing to the Inmotion hosting and replace example.com with your exact domain name.

http://example.com/cpanel or http://cpanel.example.com

Or you can login via your Inmotion client portal. Once logged in you can see their cPanel control panel Homepage. Now go to “Backups” option under “Files” tab to create your website back up.

Inmotion

This will open an interface for generating your website back up. Click on “Download a Full Website Backup” and this will generate a full backup and stored it to your Home Directory.

You could select the home directory and provide an Email address so that a notification email would be sent to the email when the backup generation is completed. Then click on “Generate Backup” button and this will show a message as “Full Backup is in progress…”.

Download the Backup and Upload it to WebHostingPeople

Once you received the backup completion email, you need to login to your cPanel again and click on “File Manager” feature. You can see a backup file in your Home Directory. Just moved this to the public_html folder or download it to your local machine via FTP client such as FileZilla.

Once the backup downloaded then upload this backup to your WebHostingPeople cPanel account either via cPanel’s File Manager feature or via FTP client such as FileZilla. You can have a look at our KB for how to transfer files over FileZilla to your account at https://www.WebHostingPeople.net/tips/kb/using-filezilla-to-upload-a-website/

Once it is completed, you need to open a ticket for restoring the backup file so that our support team will do the restoration for you. You could open a ticket from your Client Portal at https://my.WebHostingPeople.net >> Support >> Open New Ticket. Also, if you need to restore any particular domain only then please mention that scenario clearly on your ticket. Our support team will get back to you shortly via ticket regarding migration process.
