Allow Remote IP Address to Access MySQL in cPanel Shared Hosting

By default, in our shared hosting plans, all IP addresses are prohibited from connecting to MySQL. To grant access to a remote IP address for the MySQL database, you must add the IP address to the remote MySQL access list. Follow the steps below to accomplish this:

1) Sign in to your cPanel interface.

2) Scroll down to the ‘Databases’ section.

3) Click on the ‘Remote MySQL’ icon.

4) Enter the IP address from where you desire to access your databases in the host field (You can find your IP at http://ip.is.cc/)

5) Click the ‘Add Host’ button.

6) After completing the above steps, you will receive a message indicating that ‘the host IP address was added to the access list’.

7) The allowed IP addresses will be displayed in the Access Host list. If you wish to remove any added IP address, you can delete it by clicking the ‘Delete’ button associated with the IP address. Refer to the following screenshot for guidance.

8) On the next page, click on the ‘Remove Access Host’ button to eliminate the IP address from your MySQL access list.
