What exactly is Mambo CMS

Mambo (formerly known as Mambo Open Source or MOS) was a cost-free computer software/open source content management system (CMS) for designing and managing websites via a simple web interface. It had its final release in 2008, by which time the majority of the developers had departed for successors of the project, mostly Joomla and MiaCMS. Mambo included features such as page caching to enhance performance on busy sites, advanced template techniques, and a robust Programming interface providing RSS feeds and automating many tasks, including indexing of static pages. Interface features included printable versions of pages, news updates, blogs, forums, polls, calendars, site searching, language adaptation, and others.

The rights to the Mambo CMS codebase, name, and copyrights are protected by the Mambo Foundation, a non-profit organization established to support and promote the Mambo Open Source project. The Mambo Foundation’s mission is to foster the development of the Mambo system and to safeguard the project from threats and misuse. Mambo is business-oriented, written in PHP, and employs the MySQL database. It was originally developed by Miro Global. As long as it runs PHP and MySQL, it can operate Mambo on Linux, Unix, Windows, and Macintosh OS X servers. Mambo is the ideal solution for both developers and inexperienced users who desire a simple yet stylish means to deploy professional websites quickly.

Advantages of Mambo CMS:

1) Mambo’s simplicity enables the creation of user-friendly websites.

2) High-level security and safe programming development.

3) Reasonable customization options for Mambo programming solutions.

4) Outsourcing helps reduce development costs and time.

5) Lifetime support and assistance for existing Mambo applications.

6) Fully-featured and polished Mambo software applications.

Mambo acts as the driving force behind a website, facilitating the creation, management, and sharing of content. Every day in development brings us closer to this achieving this goal. At the same time, the building of a strong core can be extended by third-party developers. In the hands of a custom developer, this makes Mambo a powerful platform for a wide variety of Web applications that surpass mere content creation.

Mambo is not a typical “portal” solution. While Mambo can be customized or extended to provide this style of website, it is not the main objective of the project. Mambo primarily targets corporate websites or sites for small to medium-sized businesses, families, or personal use. The Mambo Development Team focuses on constructing a robust application framework rather than adding on extras like those found in many portal solutions. This keeps the Mambo core extremely lightweight and efficient, thus making it easier for anyone to enhance Mambo through custom third-party components and plugins that precisely cater to their needs.
